Is it fight against corruption or Blackmail against the government ????

It's a welcome move that people are fighting against corruption thanks to Anna Hazare a 74 year old man who lives in a temple, who doesn't have any bank accounts, no property and  with a sudo-Ghandian Princilples . He has done what many before him failed to do, to convert the peoples anger against corruption into a mass movement, even the likes of Baba Ramdev who has a mass following failed to achieve. He has shown what an unknown (kind of) charismatic person with great ideology can do. Was the current movement because of Anna's stature ??? , I don't think so. The sole objective of the movement is to target the government, why target congress government (I'm not a supporter of congress part), congress isn't the only corrupt party in the country. If we look at the people who are supporting we have Jayalalitha, BGP, Chiranjeevi etc .... Jayalalitha who was charged under inappropriate wealth , Yedurappa (BGP) who was charged for the mining scam, Chiranjeevi who is a bootlicker. So how can we asses the motive of the current movement.  The purpose of these parties is to target the government by cashing on the un-arrest amongst the people.

"Get Lokpal Bill passed or quit"-- Anna Hazare to government
Anna's protest doesn't make sense and doesn't look like he is fighting against the corruption, but it seems
that he fighting against the UPA government. How can he pass such a comment against the government. It's not in the hands of the government to pass the lokpal bill. It has to be approved and passed by the two houses. Why standoff only against the UPA, why isn't he questioning the other parties??.

"Anna Is India, India Is Anna" -- Kiran Bedi
Kiran Bedi Seems to forget that India is a democratic but not an autocratic country.

If Anna Hazare is a true follower of Gandhian principles then he musn't forget that Gandhi would have stopped the function of the government. How can he ask the people to quit their jobs and join his movement. It doesn't serve the purpose, but it only agrevates it .

I feel Anna should  relook at some of the Gandian Principles :

  • An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind.
  • Anger and intolerance are the enemies of correct understanding.
  • Intolerance betrays want of faith in one's cause.
  • Intolerance is itself a form of violence and an obstacle to the growth of a true democratic spirit.
  • It has always been a mystery to me how men can feel themselves honoured by the humiliation of their fellow beings.
  • Non-violence is not a garment to be put on and off at will. Its seat is in the heart, and it must be an inseparable part of our being

It feels funny when the mumbai dabba wala's joined the anna's movement against corruption, no offense, Most of them don't have the right to do so. They don't utilize their consistutional right to overturn the government that they don't like. They keep on electing the same corrupt representative again and again. In the previous elections only 40% of south Mumbai people participated in the voting.  Many people who didn't participate in the voting are participating in the current movement and many don't understand what anna's lokpal bill had for them. How can the people who can't elect their representative can fight against the government. It's time for the 60% people in south Mumbai to take example of Tamil Nadu where people keep on overturning the government and get their work done , even though they elect corrupt representatives. Its not only applicable to the poor people but also the middle class and the rich.

The most staggering question of all is how a virtually unknown person to most of the India (includes me)  before this movement became a figure to look for within a month. It has to do with the media exaggeration of his rally and  projecting him as a demi-god,  than peoples belief in him. If a politician would have taken a 2 lakh brible media would have created a frenzy. But that's not the case with Anna utilizing 2 lakhs for his birthday party (yet to be proved), Why didn't media didn't dig deep about it ???, If it was wrong they would have had a golden opportunity to condemn the government.

Regarding the Jan LokPal bill ( Differences b/w Jan LokPal and LokPal) is impractical to implement. Many clauses in it are going to be the seeds for much bigger problems. If lokpal is going to monitor the corruption in the country who is going to monitor lokpal. How can they garuntee that lokpal is insinuated from corruption. They are forgetting the most important point that people who are taking the bribe are not the only culprits, but who is also giving are also the culprits and they should also have the equal share in the punishment. It would be interesting to know if they include this clause and they explain it to the Anna's supporters, how many of them would be still supporting him.

Anna is forgetting the root cause for the corruption in India is the delivery system , unless and until its streamlined no way the corruption can be eliminated in India and doesn't doesn't make any difference even if many stringent laws are passed and even if he keeps on blackmailing the government his entire life.

Anna must find a way to sort out this issue with the government instead of blackmailing it
